MP backs biodiesel tax break campaign

Liberal Democrat MP Andrew George is backing a project to keep tax breaks for business who produce biodiesel.

Producers transforming cooking oil into biodiesel currently gain from a 20p differential but that is due to end next April.

The St Ives MP, who leads the Lib Dem Environment Team, has been fulfilling with the UK sustainable .

Mr George stated "a variety of small organizations in Cornwall presently earn money from utilized cooking oil".

He included: "In order to be able to get this sort of industry going it does require simply a bit of lift which comes in the type of tax inescapable."

Biodiesel is a mix of conventional diesel, rapeseed and vegetable oils.
